The Hemostatic, Anti-inflammatory, Analgesic and Diuretic Effects of Chungjang-Tang and Kami Chungjang-Tang

Abstract
The experiment was performed to evaluate the experimental effects of Chungjang-Tang and Kami Chungjang-Tang applied to hematuria by detecting hemostatic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic and diuretic action of them on rats and mice.
The results were obtained as follows:
1) In measure of prothrombin time Chungjang-Tang and Kamichungjang-Tang effectively shortened the prothrombin time.
2) Chungjang-Tang and Kamichungjang-Tang showed effective anti-inflammatory action on the edema induced by carrageenin, but Chungjang-Tang was more significant as compared with Kamichungjang-Tang.
3) Significant analgesic effects on the pain induced by acetic acid were noted by both recipes, but Chungjang-Tang was more effective than Kamichungjang-Tang.
4) On urinary volume change, Kamichungjang-Tang was more significant than Chungjang-Tang, and the duration time of urination was proved two hours in Chungjang-Tang, and three hours in Kami Chungjang-Tang.
5) In sodium . discharge volume of urinary electrolytes Kamichungjang-Tang was more effective than Chungjdng-Tang, but potassium discharge volume was not effective by both experimental prescriptions.
By above results, it could be acknowledged that when Chungjang-Tang was added by such hemostatic medicines as Gelatina Nigra, Biotae orientalis Folium, Cirsii Herba, Imperatae Phizoma, hemostatic and diuretic effects were intensified,
and anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects reduced in experiment as compared with original prescription.
