A Study of Anti-inflammatory, Antipyretic, Diuretic and Antimicrobial Effects of Changbaekjeopihwan

Abstract
|
|
|
It is acknowledged that leukorrhea is a chief complainment in various inflammatory disease of vagina. The present work was done to investigate the pharmacological effectivness of changbaekjeopihwan and Ailanthi´ Cortex Radicis. The solid extracted powders of changbaekjeopihwan, the Mixture of solid extracted powders of changbaekjeopihwan and solid extracted powders of Ailanthi Cortex Radicis were administered to experimental animals and evaluated anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, diuretic action and the antimicrobial effect.
The results in this work were summerized as follows:
1) The solid extracted powders and the mixture of each solid extracted powders of changbaekjeopihwan showed significant anti-inflammatory effect.
2) Changbaekjeopihwan showed significant antipyretic effect.
3) Changbaekjeopihwan showed significant diuretic action.
4) Changbaekjeopihwan showed signficant effect against Staphylococcus a ureus, Escherichia coli, Streptococcus faecalis, Bacillus subtillis.
5) The solid extracted powders of changbaekjeopihwan revealed a high significance
than the mixture of each solid extracted powders in anti-inflammatory, antipyre-
tic, diuretic effects. But, the mixture of each solid extracted powders of chang-
baekjeopihwan showed better than the solid extracted powders in the Antimicro-
bial effect.
6) The solid extracted powders of Ailanthi Cortex Radicis was not good than the changbaekjeopihwan in the anti-infalmmatory effect, the antipyretic, diuretic action and antimicrobial effect.
According to the above results, it is confirmed that antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, diuretic and anti-microbial effect were recognized in changbaekjeopihwan. And the solid extracted powders of changbaekjeopihwan showed better than the mixture of each solid extracted powders, and the compound prescription was more effective than the each one.
