Studies on the Effects of Chunkumbotaiwhan on Antiabortion

Abstract
|
|
|
In order to study the effects of Chunkumbotaiwhan, reputed to be effective for the remedy of threatened abortion, experiments regarding the effect of Chunkumbotaiwhan on the pregnant rats and on the uterine strips of nonpregnant rats were conducted.
And the results were as follows:
1) The antiabortive effect of the drug on the groups of 4-7 days´ gestation was significantly increased in proportion to the amount administered when compared with that of control group.
2) The drug administered on the uterine strips of nonpregnant rats caused the effect of uterine relaxation in proportion to concentration of the drug.
3) The effect of solid extract powder was tended to be more effective in general than that of the mixture of each solid powder of Chunkumbotaiwhan.
According to the above results, it can be concluded that Chunkumbotaiwhan, generally used for treatment of threatened abortion, had a remarkable effect on anti-abortion and relaxation of uterus.
