A Study on the Effect of Saengganonbi tang Against Thioacetamide Induced Liver Damage in Rat

Abstract
An experimental study was conducted in an attempt to research the clinical effects of Saengganonbi-tang against TAA-intoxicated rats.
The result obtained as follows:
1) In the effect of Saengganonbi-tang against damage of liver in rats induced by TAA, Alkaline Phopatase Activity in experimental group was markedly decreased than the control group and they showed highly statistical value.
2) The GPT activity in the serum of rats intoxicated by TAA was showed the remarkable decrease with passage of time in the experimental I group of Saengganonbi-tang decoction.
3) The experimental group showed the tendency of a remarkable decrease the control group in GOT activity.
4) In case of LDH activity the experimental group, compared with the control showed the tendency of a considerable decrease and revealed statistical value.
According to the above findings, it is presumed that Saengganonbi-tang can be used for the treatment of liver disease.
