A Study on Huh Jun¢¥s life and examinning about Dong-Eui-Bo-Kam


Abstract
As the result of studying and examinning about Dong-Eui-Bo-Kam (ANa ) which is one of the most important medical books about Oriental medical science in Korea, I¢¥ve got these conclusions.
1. Huh-joon who was born in the middle of Yi-Dynasty is the twentieth generation of Huhsunmoom who had lived in the first period of Koryo Dynasty. Huh-joon published Dong-Etii-Bo-Kam by the order of King Sun-jo and accomplished the groundwork of independent national medicine. He also had a great influence upon the publication of many other medical books, and led to form a School of Dong-Eui-Bo-Kam.
2. Dong-Eui-Bo-Kam, written by the scientific and practical method in classifying the diseases, is possessing the contents of modern medicine.
3. He practically and simply systemized the various kinds of medical books and told the origin of quoted theories and prescriptions, and showed the direction of studying to the younger scholars.
4. To urge the use of Korean medical plants growing throughout the country, he wrote the common names in Korean language and practically controlled the usage volume of prescriptions.
5. He insisted upon the importance of the part of spiritual medicine according to the theory of Chung¢¥Kee¢¥Sin and took a serious view of the hygiene.
