Study on the Effect of Bogantang and Sagantang on the Physiological changes of Rats according to Changes of Time in a Day



Abstract
To study the differences in the effects of Bogantang and Sagantang on Physiological changes, rats which weighed about 200g were divided into four groups; normal group, control group, Bogntang Administration group, and Sagantang Administration group. And the changes of Rectal Temperature, Heart Rate, Blood Pressure, Red Rood Cell, and Hemoglobin of them were measured at 9:00 a.m. 12:00 a.m., 3:00 p.m, and 12:00 p.m. each.
Following results were obtained in this experiment.
1. The Rectal Temperature of rats was increased significant values (p< 0.05) only. at 3:00 p.m. (38.30 0.09C) in Bogantang Administration group and was slightly increased in Sagantang Administration group than in the control group. but didn¢¥t show significant values.
2. Heart Rate was significantly increased in Bogantang Administration group at 9:00 a.m. (350.2 9.8 Beats/min), and Sagantang Administration group didn¢¥t show significant values but it was slightly increased.
3. In case of Blood Pressure, Bogantang Administration group showed significant increase at 12:00 a.m.(136.01.9mmHg) but Sagantang Administration group didn¢¥t show any significant changes.
4. As for the number of Red Blood Cell, Bogantang Administration group; ¢¥showed comparatively remarkable increase with significant values at 12:00 a.m. (490.0 14.2 ten thou/pi ) and 12:00 P.m. (540.0 12.4 ten thou/p2 ) each and Sagantang Administration group also showed significant increase.
5. The changes of Hemoglobin showed significant increase both in Bogantang
Administration group and Sagantang Administration group only at 12:00 p.m.
By the above experimental results, it is suggested that Rectal Temperature, Heart Rate, Blood Pressure, and the components of blood of a living body have Periodical biorhythms and there are differences in the effects of Bogantang and Sagantang on Physiological function.
It is considered that all these are due to the interaction of Spontaneous Eum-Yang( A 1W ) metabolism and the decrement and increment of environmental. Eum-Yang( 1 1W ).
