Comparision of Effects of Inulae Radix, Aristolochiae Radix and Aucklandiae Radix on Motility of Isolated Rat Duodenum and Uterus

Abstract
For the right usage to the curative aspects and comparision of the differences between Inulae Radix, Aristolochiae Radix and Aucklandiae Radix, this experiment was conducted on the motility of isolated rat duodenum and uterus treated with extracts of these crude drugs.
Dose responses of these crude drugs were undertaken by magnus mathod and in order to clarify the pharmacological mechanism of these crude drugs, the interaction was observed with acetylcholine and barium chloride.
Results were as follows.
1. Inulae Radix and Aristolochiae Radix showed relaxant and interrupted interact-ion on the motility of isolated rat duodenum and this interrupted effect was proportionated to the concentration.
2. Aucklandiae Radix showed concentrative interaction on the motility of isolated rat duodenum.
3. The interrupted interaction on the movement of isolated rat duodenum showed antagonistic action on acetylcholine and barium chloride but Aucklandiae Radix showed only on barium chloride.
4. On the isolated rat uterus, Inulae Radix and Aristolochiae Radix showed ant-agonistic action to contracted uterus on acetylcholine and barium chloride, but Aucklandiae Radix showed interrupted effect only on barium chloride.
According to above mentioned, on rat isolated duodenum and uterus, Inulae Radix and Aristolochiae Radix showed interrupted and relaxant effect, and Aucklandiae Radix showed acceleratory and contractive interaction, so Inulae Radix and Aristolochiae Radix should be used for promoting vital energy circulation, alleviate pain, tympanitic disease and diarrhea and on the contrary, Aucklandiae Radix should be used to strengthen digestive organ and to warm the middle warmer.
