A Study on the Analgesic Effect of Laser-Acupuncture by the Change of Frequencies and Time of Radiation


Abstract
In order to investigate the analgesic effect of Laser-acupuncture by the changes in frequencies of 100, 500, 1000, 2000 and 5000Hz and time of 30, 60, and 90 seconds, Laser-acupuncture stimulation was applied at the corresponding locus of Jog Sam Li(S3 6) in mice. The pain of mice was induced by o.7% acetic acid, and analgesic effect of Laser-acupuncture was investigated by counting the numbers of writhing syndrome in mice.
The results were obtained as follows:
1. By the changes of frequencies and the time of radiation, laser-acupuncture stimulation group revealed significant alangesic effect compared with that of control group except 2000Hz . 30 seconds.
2. By the changes of frequencies, laser-acupuncture stimulation group showed the best analgesic effect under the frequency of 100Hz.
3. By the changes of the time of radiation, Laser-acupuncture stimulation group revealed the best analgesic effect at the stimulation of 90 seconds.
4. When comparing Laser-acupuncture stimulation group with acupuncture stimulation group with acupuncture stimulation group.
1) In case of the stimulation of 30 seconds, Laser-acupuncture stimulation group revealed better analgesic effect than acupuncture stimulation group except 2000Hz¢¥30 seconds.
2) In case of the stimulation of 60 seconds, under frequencies of 100Hz, 2000 Hz, Laser acupuncture stimulation group, but under the frequency of 1000Hz revealed less analgesic effect.
3) In case of the stimulation of 90 seconds, all laser-acupuncture stimulation group showed better analgesic effect than acupuncture stimulation group.
According to the above results, the best analgesic effect of Laser-acupuncture was obtained under 100 Hz¢¥ 90 seconds and it is expected that this may be
clinically helpful for the pain relief.
