Effects of Aqua-acpuncture with Cervus elaphus Extract Solution in Anemic Rabbit


Abstract
In order to study the effect of aqua-acupuncture with Cervus elaphus extract solution on anemia induced by phenylhydrazine hydrochloride injection, aqua-acupuncture with Cervus elaphus extract solution.was inserted into the corresponding loci of Gyeog-Su (B17), Jog-Sam-Ri(S36) and a Blank Locus (BL) at the root of tail in anemic rabbits. Effect of aqua-acupuncture on anemia was studied by measuring the red blood cell (Rbc), hemoglobin and hematocrit in rabbit.
The following results have been obtained.
1. In the measurement of Rbc number, hemoglobin and hematocrit, aqua-acupuncture with Cervus elaphus extract solution was shown a remarkable increase but aqua-acupuncture with 0.9% saline solution was not shown an effective increase.
2. In the measurement of Rbc number by applying various acupuncture loci, both Gyeog-Su(B17) and Jog-Sam-Ri(S36) showed a remarkable increase as compared with control data and Jog-Sam-Ri(S36), Gyeog-Su (B17) and a Blank Locus showed an increase in that order.
3. In the measurement of hemoglobin by applying various acupuncture loci, Gyeog-Su(B17) showed a remarkable increase as compared with control data and Jog-Sam-Ri (S36) also showed an increase. Gyeog-Su(B17), Jog-Sam-Ri(S36) and a Blank Locus showed an increase in that order.
4. In the measurement of hematocrit by applying various acupuncture loci, both Gyeog-Su(B17) and Jog-Sam-Ri(S36) showed a remarkable increase as compared with control data and Gyeog-Su(B17), Jog-Sam-Ri(S36), and a Blank Locus showed an increase in that order.
According to the above results, it is concluded that aqua-acupuncture with Cervus elaphus extract solution on Gyeog-Su(B17) locus and Jog-Sam-Ri(S36) locus in anemic rabbit showed a significant recovery from anemia induced by phenylhydrazine hydrochloride in rabbit.
