Experimental Studies on the Effect of Flos Puerariae(Kalwha)

Abstract
|
|
|
In order to investigate the curative effectiveness of Flos Puerariae biochemical tests were experimented in rats treated with thioacetamide (TAA) after oral administration of Flos Puerariae.
The following results were obtained:
1. After inducing liver damage in rats with TAA administration of Flos Puerariae respectively reduced considerably the activities of transminase (GOT, GPT) in serum.
2. After inducing liver damage in rats with TAA administration of Flos Puerariae respectively reduced considerably the activities of alkaline phosphatase (AIP) in serum.
3. After inducing liver damage in rats with TAA administration of Flos Puerariae respectively reduced considerably the activities of lactic dehydrogenase (LDH) in serum.
4. According to the above results, Flos Puerariae was recognized to be helpful for the recovery of liver damage induced by TAA, therefore Flos Puerariae in assumed to have a curative effect against the hepatic function.
