Abstract

|
In order to investigate the curative effectiveness of Prunellae Herba biochemical tests were experimented in rats treated with thioacetamide (TAA) after oral administration of Prunellae Herb a.
The following results were obtained:
1. After inducing Liver damage in rats with TAA administration of Prunellae Herba respectively reduced considerably the activities of transaminase (GOT, GPT) in serum.
2. After inducing Liver damage in rats with TAA administration of Prunellae Herba respectively reduced considerably the activities of alkaline phosphatase (ALP) in serum.
3. After inducing Liver damage in rats with TAA administration of Prunellae Herba respectively reduced considerably the activities of Lactic dehydrogenase (LDH) in serum.
4. According to the above results, Prunellae Herba was recognized to be helpful for the recovery of liver damage induced by TAA, therefore Prunellae Herba in assumed to have a curative effect against the hepatic function.
