Experimental studies on the effects of Yijoongtang and Daeseunggitang

Abstract
In order to determined the effects of Yijoongtang and Daeseunggitang on the changes of physiological function: the body temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, serum-Na+, K+, Cl- concentration, blood sugar, serum free fatty acid, total protein, albumin, globulin, and on the gastric juice volume, acidity and spontaneous motility of isolated intestine.
In this experiment, control group was given with water alone, experimental groups were divided into four, which were administered following samples; The group sample A was administered dried extracted powder of Yijoongtang (54.4, 108.8mg./200g.); The group sample B was administered compounds of individual herb dried extracted powder of Yijoongtang(48.0, 96.0mg./200g.);The group sample C was administered dried extracted powder of Daeseunggitang (136.0, 272.0mg./200g.); The group sample D was administered compounds of individual herb dried extracted powder of Daeseunggitang (124.0, 248.0mg./200g.).
And the results as follows:
1. Body temperature, in contrast to control group, has supressed on sample C (272.mg./ 200g.), sample D (248mg /200g.) administered groups, but other groups have appeared no significant value.
2. Blood pressure and heart rate, in contrast to control group, has supressed in sample C (272mg./200g.) and sample D (124mg./200g., 248mg./200g.) administered groups, but other groups have appeared no significant value.
3. Serum-Na+ concentration, in contrast to control group, has increased in sample C (136mg./200g., 272mg./200g.) administered groups, other groups have appeared no significant value.
Serum-K+ concentration, in contrast to control group, has increased in sample D (124mg/200g, 248mg/200g) administered groups, other groups have appeared no significant value.
Serum-CV concentration, in contrast to control group, has increased in sample C (272mg/200g) administered group, other groups have appeared no significant value.
4. Serum-glucose, in contrast to control group, has increased in sample A (108.8mg/ 200g) administered group and has decreased in sample D (124mg/200g, 248mg/ 200g) administered groups, other groups have appeared no significant value. Serum-NEFA, in contrast to control group, has increased in sample C (136mg/200g) administered group, other groups have appeared no significant value.
Total protein, in contrast to control group, has increased in sample A (54.4mb/ 200g) and sample C (136mg/200g) administered groups, other groups have appeared no significant value. Albumin, in contrast to control group, has increased in sample C (136mg/200g, 272mg/200g) administered groups, other groups have appeared no significant value.
In change of serum-globulin content, significant value has not appeared through the all groups.
5. Gastric juice volume, in contrast to control group, has increased in sample A (108.8 mg/200g) and sample B (48mg/200g, 96mg/200g) administered groups, other groups have appeared no significant value. Acidity, in contrast to control group, increased in sample A (108.8mg/200g) and sample B (48mg/200g) administered groups and has decreased in sample D (124mg/200g) administered group, other groups have no significant value.
6. Spontaneous motilities of isolated ileums, on Yijoongtang and Daeseunggitang, were suppressed. And contractions of isolated ileums, induced by acetylcholine chloride and barium chloride, were inhibited on Yijoongtang and Daeseunggitang.
