Experimental Studies on the Efficacy of Soeuminbojungikgitang



Abstract
Soeuminbojungikgitang is consist of Astagali Radix, Ginseng Radix, Astractyloidis Rhizoma alba, Glycyrrhizae Radix, Angelicae gingantis Radix, Aurantii nobilis Pericarpium, Perillae Herba, Agastachis Herba.
So, to investigate the clinical efficiency of Soeuminbojungigitang and validate its oriental medical theory, these experiments were undertaken, by being carried with animal experiment. The experimental studies were implemented on digestive organ affecting actions and hypotensive action.
The results of studies were summerized as followed:
1. Relaxing action was shown on the isolated ileum in mice, rats, rabbits and guinea-pigs and antagonistic actions were seen on acetylcholine, Bacl, and histamine induced contraction of the ileum.
2. On the motility of the small intestine in rabbits, inhibitory motility was recognized.
3. Inhibitory transport functions were recognized by Soeuminbojungikgitang.
4. Antidiarrheal action was recognized.
5. Inhibitory action to the excretion of gastric jucie, pH increasing effect and decreasing effect of the free acidity and total acidity were recognized.
6. Continuous hypotensive action was seen.
