In order to study of effects of Bosaengtang reputed to be the effective for the remedy and treatment of vomiting of the pregnancy, analgesic test sedative test, the transport of intestinal contents, the volume of gastric juice level, the gastric acidity, reaction of isolated uterus, reaction of isolated intestine, a series of experiment was con-ducted and the follow results were obtained.
1. The analgesic effect of the drug was significant Bosaengtang and kamibosaengtang I had high significance than kamibosaengtang II.
2. The sedative effect of the drug was recognized. Kamibosaengtang was the most significant of the three.
3. In the effect of on the tansport of intestinal contents Bosaengtang and Kamibosaengtang I was significant but karriibosaengtang wasn´t significant.
4. In the effect on volume of gastric juice level, Bosaengtang was significant but Kamibosaengtang I, II wasn´t significant.
5. In the effect on gastric acidity, Bosaengtang and Kamibosaengtang was all significant.
6. Effect on contraction of isolated uterus was significantly inhibited.
The drug administered on the uterine muscle strips caused the effect of uterine relaxation in proportion to concentration of the drug.
The effect was intensity as follow order, Kamibosaengtang I, Bosaengtang and Kamibosaengtang II.
7. The constraction movement of isolated intestine was promotive in a low concentra tion but it was decrease according to increase of concentration.
