Abstract
In order to investigate the cell-mediated and humoral immune responce, each solid extracts of Atractylis Rhizoma, and Lycii Fructus were administered orally for 14 days. These solid extracts treated mice and control mice were challenged with sheep red blood cells(SRBC) by intradermal injection on day 4 after sensitization with 108 SRBC by intravenous injection.
On day 5, such immune responses as delayed-type hypersensitivity, rosette forming cells with SRBC, hemagglutinin titers and hemolysin titers were measured.
The results were measured:
1. Delayed-type hypersensitivity of Atractylis Rhizoma and Lycii Fructus-treated mice was increased than those of control mice.
2. Rosette spleen cells of Atractylis Rhizoma and Lycii Fructus-treated mice was in-creased than those of control mice.
3. Hemagglutinin and Hemolysin titers were increased in Atractylis Rhizoma-treated mice when compared with the control mice.
The inference from the above results is that Atractylis Rhizoma enhance the cell mediated and the humoral immune responce but Lycii Fructus only the cell mediated immune responce.
