The Effect of Aqua-acupuncture of Cornu Cervi Parvum Extract upon the Damaged Liver induced by Carbon Tetrachloride in Rat

Abstract
In order to study on the effect of qua-acupuncture of Cornu Cervi Parvum extract upon the damaged liver, the carbon tetrachloride: olive oil (1:3v/v) solution was injected into the peritoneum of rats and the aqua-acuquncture of 1%, 10% and 50% extract concentration was respectively applied to the corresponding loci to Gansu (B18) and Choksamni (S36) of human body and to the root of tail for 3 days. And the serum GOT, GPT, Phospholipid, 13-Lipoprotein and LAP activities were measured in the rats.
The following results have been obtained;
1. In serum GOT activity, both Gansu and Choksammi aqua-acupuncture groups showed significant decrease but Gansu group revealed better effect than Choksmni and blank locus (root of tail) group showed a little significant decrease.
2. In serum GPT activity, both Gansu and Choksamni aqua-acupuncture groups showed significant decrease and blank locus group revealed a little significant decrease only in 1% extract concentration.
3. In serum Phospolipid activity, both Gansu and Choksamni aqua-acupuncture groups showed significant decrease but Gansu group revealed better effect than Choksamni and blanks locus group showed a little significant decrease only in 50% extract concentration.
4. In serum 0-Lipoprotein activity, both Gansu and Choksamni aqua-acupuncture groups showed significant decrease but Gansu group revealed better effect than Choksamni and blank locus group showed a little significant decrease only in 50% extract concentration.
5. In serum LAP activity, both Gansu and Choksamni aqua-acupuncture groups showed significant decrease and blank locus group revealed significant decrease in 10% and 50% extract concentration
6. There was no different significance according to the concentration of Cornu Cervi Parvum extract.
According to the above results, it is concluded that aqua-acupuncture of Cornu Cervi Parvum Extract on the loci of Gansu and Choksamni decreased the serum GOT, GPT, Phospholipid, /3-Lipoprotein and LAP activities, therefore, it seems to be appliable to the liver disease.
