In order to study the effect on the kidney damage of rats intoxicated by streptozotocin, blood urea nitrogen, creatinine, urec acid, total protein, albumin, glucose level, diuretic action aere measured.
The results are summarized as follows :
1, The sample groups showed more significant decrease as compared with the control group in the blood urea nitrogen level, creatinine level and uric acid activity.
2. The only sample A group showed significant increase in total protein level as compared with the control group decreased.
3. The glucose level of sample groups was significantly decreased, hile one of the control group was remarkably increased.
4. There was the acceleration on diuretic action after 4-5 days, but no statistical significance.
According to these results, Paljong-san was proved to recover the function of kidney of rats from the damage of streptozotocin, and it is presumed that this medicine can treat the diseases d kidney system of human
