Abstract

An experimental study was done to research the clinical effects of. Mahaengkamsuktang on the analgesic, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, and expectorant action and the movement of isolated ileum
The results obtained as follows :
1. The extract of Mahaengkamsuktang was revealed significant action on analgesic effect,
2. The extract of Mahaengkamsuktang was revealed significant action on antipyretic effect remarkably.
3. The extract of Mahaengkamsuktang was revealed on anti-inflammatory effect with edema induced by carrageenin in mice
4. The autokinesis of the isolated ileum in mice was restrained remarkably, and relaxing action was shown on acetylcholine, barium chloride, histamine-induced contraction of the ilum in mice
5. The extract of Mahaengkamsuktang was revealed on expectorant effect in rats.
