Abstract
In order to study the effects of acupuncture, moxibustion and Cervus Cornu(CC) aqua-acupuncture on the ovarian function, a series of treatments were carried out at the meridian points of Kwanwon(CV4) and Chok-samni(ST36) of the rats, and thereafter the levels of serum LH, FSH, prolactin and estradiol-17¥â on the hyperprolactinemia rats induced by metoclopramide and the number of ova and the levels of serum LH, FSH in the rats injected by PGF2¥á were measured.
The following results were obtained.
1. The levels of serum LH and FSH in the hyperprolactinemia rats were increased as compared with the control group in the moxibustion and CC aqua-acupuncture to Kwanwon(CV4) groups, and the levels of serum prolactin and estradiol-17¥â were not changed in all the experimental groups as compared with the control group.
2. The number of ova was increased as compared with the control group in the moxibustion and CC aqua-acupuncture to Kwanwon(CV4) groups in the rats injected by PGF2¥á. But it did not show any statistical significance of the number of ova during ovulation in the normal rats as compared with the control group.
3. The levels of serum LH and FSH did not show any statistical significance as compared with the control group in all the experimental groups in the rats injected by PGF2¥á.
