Abstract
In order to investigate the preventive effects of moxibustion therapy on the depression of the immune response induced by cold stress in rats, the control group and the sample groups were exposed to cold stress at -10¡É for 14 days and therefore -18¡É for 14 days. And direct moxibustion therapy were conducted 4 times every otherday from 22 days to 28 days on the loci corresponding Pi-su(BL20) of Human body and Blank loci.
Experimental studies were performed for the observation of the No. of RBC, WBC and Lymphocyte in blood, blood CD4+ T cell count, spleen CD4+ T cell count and axillary lymph node CD4+ T cell count in rats exposed to cold stress.
The results was as follows :
1. The No. of RBC in blood was increased with the statistical significance in the Pi-su(BL20) and Blank loci moxibustion therapy groups as compared with the control group.
2. The No. of WBC in blood was increased with the statistical significance in the Pi-su(BL20) moxibustion therapy groups as compared with the control group.
3. The No. of Lymphocyte in blood was increased with the statistical significance in the Pi-su(BL20) and Blank loci moxibustion therapy groups as compared with the control group. And the Pi-su group was more increased with the statistical significance than the Blank loci group.
4. The Blood CD4+ T cell count was increased with the statistical significance in the Pi-su(BL20) and Blank loci moxibustion therapy groups as compared with the control group.
5. The No. of Lymphocyte in Spleen was increased with the statistical nonsignificance in the Pi-su(BL20) and Blank loci moxibustion therapy groups as compared with the control group.
6. The Spleen CD4+ T cell count was increased with the statistical significance in the Pi-su(BL20) moxibustion therapy group as compared with the control group.
7. The Lymphocyte in Axillyary lymph node was increased with the statistical nonsignificance in the Pi-su(BL20) and Blank loci moxibustion therapy groups as compared with the control group.
8. Axillyary lymph node CD4+ T cell was increased with the statistical significance in the Pi-su(BL20) and Blank loci moxibustion therapy groups as compared with the control group.
