Observative Study on 23 pediatrical outpatients showing the geographic tongue

Abstract
By the questionnaire made up to the 23 pediatrical outpatients having the geographic tongue, the results like followings can be concluded.
1. The geographic tongue is considered to be as a kind of symptom related to the general functional condition through the five vital organs and six viscera all.
2. Infant¡¯s geographic tongue aggravates in accord with the aggravation of another symptoms or diseases of his own.
3. To improving the geographic tongue, therapeutic methods like clearing heat, promoting the circulation of qi, invigorating blood, invigorating qi, nourishing Yin, removing dampness and resolving sputum, strenghening spleen, supplementing qi, nourishing the stomach Yin, etc are usually applied.
4. The chief complaints of children showing the geographic tongue are including anorexia, weakness, frequent common cold, enuresis, halitosis, and in the rest of patients, epistaxis, rhinitis, maxillary sinusitis, tonsillar hypertrophy, nasal obstruction, the geographic tongue, enteritis, diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting, constipation, indigestion, itching, dryness, atopic dermatitis, fatigue, unbalanced diet, oversweating were complained.
