A Study on the Finite Element Analysis of Stress in the Different Length of Dental Implant

Abstract
Stress analysis using finite element method was applied to compare and analyze stress produced in adjacent bone tissue and dental implants. Experimental models have dental implants in the edentulous area of the first premolar in the lower arch.
Six
models(Branemark implant : diameter 3.75mm, length 7mm, 19mm, 13mm, 15mm, 18mm, 20mm) were designed. 10Kg of static load was applied to each experimental model.
@ES The results were as follows.
@EN 1. Every implant sample showed maximum stress at the cervical portion and also showed quite largely at the apical portion.
2. The amount of stress among the several implants with variable lengths but same diameter showed many differences. The shorter one showed the more stress than longer.
3. The longer implant of the same diameter showed more advantageous in stress relief.
4. the stress distribution of dental implants mainly depend upon their length rather their diameter.
