The Histologic Study of the Rat hard tissue change following Ovariectomy

Abstract
|
|
|
As the elderly population is on a rise, osteoporosis became considered as a major systemic disease causing severe impediment. For the purpose of knowledging the changing process of the rat hard tissue and for applying the results to modify
treatment
planning in the dental management of osteoporosis patients following aging and menopausing, the author ovariectomized the rats, and histologically observed the changing process of the rat hard tissue.
@ES The results were as follows.
@EN 1. In the experimental group, 1 week after surgery, active bone remodelling was found.
2. In the experimental group, 2 weeks after surgery, partially ruptured trabeculae network was found and after 5 weeks the trabeculae almost completely disappeared.
3. After 5 weeks osteoporotic changes in the cortical bone and new bone formation could be found in the outer surface of the cortical bone.
4. In the inner and outer circumferential lamellae, active bone remodelling could be found and random bone remodelling and amorphous osteons could be found in the cortical bone
