The methodological study of the change of Brain activity with acupoint stimulation using functional MRI

Abstract
We studied functional MRI in 6 volunteers on a KAIS 2.0 T Whole-body MRI system using conventional gradient echo(CGF) sequence. Brain activation was induced by visual stimulation. A localization increase of MRI signal in the visual cortex was observed in 6 people(100%) and the percentage of signal change was 9.201.24%. The susceptibility or blood oxygenation level dependent effect has been studied to get maps of the human brain by MRI performing various tasks. We guess that acupuncture effect can be also evaluated with fMM. Visualization of activated sensory cortex will helpful to study the relationship between acupuncture stimulation and brain function.
