Synergistic Effects of Antagonists on Cyanide Intoxication

Abstract

|
Enhancements effects LD 50 values by various antidotes against cyanide, intoxication were investigated in mice.
The highest antidotal action was exhibited by the combination of sodium thiosulfate and sodium nitrate. But the additional treatment of chlorpromazine on mice pretreated by combined antidotes sodium thiosulfate and sodium nitrite-provided a little protection agams t cyanide poisoning.
Sodium thiosulfate was more efficacious than so::ium nitrate or chlorpromazine when it was administered alone.
