Antigenic Analysis of the Influenza Viruses Isolated in Korea, 1979-1981

Abstract
|
|
|
Influenza virus strains were isolated during the epidemic seasons in Korea from 1979 to 1981. The isolated virus strains were experimented for their antigenic analysis by means of hemagglutination inhibition test and obtained results are as follows ;
1) The isolated influenza virus strain in 1979 was identified as antigenically similar to A/ Brazil/11/78(H, N,).
2) The isolated influenza virus strains in 1980 were all clearly like A/ Bang Kok / 1/79 (H, N, ) .
3) The isoloted influenza virus strains in 1981 were less reactive than the prototype virus. Neverthless they appear to be quite similar antigenically to A/Bang Kok/1/79 (H, N,).
