A Study on the Perfortmance Management Model for the Efficient Management of OSI Resource
Kim Kyu-Ho

Abstract
Because a number of nodes connect to each other with complexity and variety, ISO has proposed OSI Management Standard for achieving the network management efficiently. IN this study, OSI Standards on Performance Management of the management service which is laid in application layer were reviewed and an efficent implementation model were proposed. The performance for the computer network may differ according to various parameters such as routing, bandwith and timers. Since the network system requirements may widely vary according to specific application, computer network must be tailored at the design stage by the selection of appropriate protocols and the assignment of default parameter. However, since the condition under which a network actually operates may change from that considered at the design stage, control and management action are required to adjust the network parameter so that the performance of network is satisfied. This study presents the design of a performance management model for improving network performance by on-line adjustment of protocol parameters such as routing table, bandwith. And a case implementation on A TM network topology was presented.
