An Analysis on Outsourcing Service of General Hospital in Seoul

Abstract
This study was carried out to research on the actual conditions of outsourcing service in general hospital. For this study, questionaries were sent to the 74 general hospitals in Seoul and only 25 general hospital cases had utilized this study. Data were analyzed by frequency test for general characteristics of the cases, one-way ANOVA for distinctions among hospital group and regression for identification on the effects of satisfaction using SPSS PC package program. The results of this study were as follows : Firstly, the outsourcing service types executed in study hospitals were washing services(88.0%), surgical specimen services(80.0%), cleaning services(76.0%), parking zone services(60.0%), facility management services(48.0%), clinical pathology services(40.0%), information and security services(32.0%), computer services(24.0%) and meals services(20.0%) Secondly, the satisfaction of meals services were the highest at 80.0% and that of computer services were the lowest. And the satisfaction of each outsourcing services were as follows: clinical pathology services(70.0%), surgical specimen services(65.0%), washing services(52.6%), cleaning services(50.0%), facility management services(50.0%), parking zone services(26.7%), information and security services(25.0%). Thirdly, on the whole the outsourcing services contributed to cost reduction, labor management and an overall hospital management. Comparing the level of cost reduction: the 32.0% of the study hospitals were below 10%, the 44.0% of the study hospitals were 11¡­20% and the rests were over 21%.
