Statistical Review of Patient with Cerebrovascular Accidents

Abstract
|
|
|
This report is a statistical review of 79 patients with cerebrovascular accidents, who were admitted to the medical ward of chosun university hospital from jan. 1973 to dec. 1976.
The classification of cerebrovascular accidents were cerebral hemorrhage, cerebral thro-mbosis, cerebral embolism and subarachnoid hemorrhage.
The results were obtained as follow :
1. Of 79 patients with cerebrovascular accidents, 33 case(41.8%) were in cerebral hemorrhage, 32 cases(40.5%) in cerebral thrombosis, 6 cases(7.6%) in cerebral embolism and 8 cases(10.1%) in subarachnoid hemorrhage.
2. Sex ratio was 1.5:1 male to female.
3. The peak age incidence of cerebral hemorrhage was fifth decade, the other disease was sixth decade.
4. Seasonal incidence was developed high in the writer and relatively low in the spring.
5. The sign and symptoms were the most common in the headache(31.2%) , hemiplegia or paraplegia(29.4%).
6. In determined blood pressure just then the patients is admitted, hypertension was found in a majority of cases with cerebral hemorrhage(93.9%), and cerebral thrombosis showed relatively low rate in 3 cases(50%).
7. The mortality rate of cerebrovascular accidents were 12.7% and 24.2% in the cerebral hemorrhage, 6.3% in the cerebral thrombosis but no one is dead in cerebral embolism and subarachnoid hemorrhage.
