Abstract
The operations of the patients with acute head injury, 102 cases were performed from January, 1977 to December, 1977 at the Chosun University Hospital and we have chnically evaluated it in the view of the anesthetic standpoints. The results were as fellows ;
1. The monthly incidence was not significant.
2. Male outnumbered female by- 2 4 1 and the age incidence was greatest in the age group between 20 and 29 (21.6%)
3. The most common case was epidural hematoma (34.3%)
4. Urine sugar was seen occasionally in the case of epidural hematoma and F.C C D and hematocrit decreased generally in all cases.
5. Average infused volume of fluid and blood was as follows ;
1) at depressed skull fracture : 977§¢
2) at F.C,C,D : 1117§¢
3) at epidural hematoma : 1374§¢
4) at subdural hematoma : 1534§¢
5) at intracerebral hematoma : 1760§¢
6) at subdural hygroma : 1655§¢
6. Under the anesthesia of halothane and thiopental, I. C. P increased evidently. The selection of anesthetic agent and method should be dependent upon the physiolo- glcal status of the patient, degree of the urgency required, skill and experience of the surgen and anesthesiologist.
And optimal results require effective teamwork among surgen and anesthesilogist.
