The Clinical Effects of Estradiol Valerate and Testosterone Enanthate for the Suppression of Postpartur Lactation in Korean Nonnursing Mothers

Abstract
|
|
|
A clinical survey of the suppression effects of Postpartum lactation and breast symptoms have been made on 167 nonnursing mothers using 4§¢ of Estradiol Valerate (4mg/§¢) combined with Testosterone Enanthate (90.27mg/§¢) out of 785 deliveries from June 1, 1978 to December 31, 1978.
The clinical data obtained were as follows,
1) The incidence of nonnursing mothers was 21.3%.
2) In indication the cases desiring suppression of lactation for their convenience were most common.
Its rate was 64.6% and others were as follows, premature & immature births 11.4%, F.D.I.U. 7.3%, Acute & Chronic maternal disesse 6.6%, Maternal occupstional problems 5.4%, Neonstal death 2.9%, Congenital malformation 1.9%,
3) Lactation was completely inhibited in 95.5% and breast symptoms were absent or mild in 89.4%.
4) No correlation between response and parity, gestational period or previous nursing experience was observed.
5) No undesirable side effects were present in all cases.
