Orthognathic Surgery and Delayed Implant Placement: A case report

Abstract

|
A thirty one-year-old female patient who has mandible prognathism, facial asymmetry, dolicofacial profile and multiple loss of teeth was treated with orthognathic surgery and delayed implant placement. At first, 2-jaw orthognathic surgery and genioplasty were done. At 9 months after orthognathic surgery, plates and screws were removed and implant insertion and bone graft were done step by step at edentulous area. All implants were maintained stably at last 5 years after orthognathic surgery. There were no complications. The marginal bone around implant was also maintained stably. At point of orthognathic surgery, there was no relapse or postoperative infection.
