A Study on the Professional Activities of Community Health Practitioners in Chonnam Province

Abstract
This study was conducted to analyze the activities of the 207 community health practitioners (=CHP) in chonnam province during the period of January-February 1987. The activities were devided into 6 categories measured by 5-rating scale.
The results could be summerized as follows;
A. General Characteristics
1. An average age of the CHP was 30 year a 65.7% of them were married.
2. The majority of the CHP was the 3-year junior nursing college graduates, while only 11.6% was 4-year college graduates.
B. Jub satisfaction Those who are satisfied exceed those who were little of any satisfaction (44.6% v. s. 6.9%).
C. Total mean score of activities (The higher the score, the lower the performence level)
1. Medical care service for minor illness carried out by the CHP were an average 2.25.
2. Activity management and guidence offered by the CHP were an average 2.47.
3. Community health service showed that an average 2.70.
4. Community organization and development was done by the CHP were an average 2.77. ^
5. Maternal-Child health services and Family planning rendered by the CHP were an average 2.80.
6. Activity planning conducted by the CHP were an average 2.85.
