Effect of Functional Training on Stroke Patient by Barthel Index Score

Abstract
|
|
|
In order to figure out on effect of functional training on Stroke patient, Barthel Index Score was used. This treatment performed at Kwangju Christian Hospital from November, 1984 to April, 1987.
The results obtained are as follows:
1. In case of treatment period, the Stroke patients in both the treatment in longer than 4 weeks and less than 2 weeks at initial, showed the excellent treatment effect.
2. As the period of initial treatment of Stroke patient is 2~4 weeks, Barthel Index score of the patient showed the most excellent effect after 4 weeks treat: before treatment, Barthel Index score was 41~60 point.
3. As the period of initial treatment of Stroke patient is longer than 4 weeks, the effect of treatment of patients was the most excellent even though Barthel Index score was less than 20 at initial stage. But those who have barthe Index score 21~41 point at intial, the treatment effect was lower at less tha 2 weeks.
