A Study on the Effects of STEP Program

Abstract
|
|
|
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of STEP program. The subjects for this study were 20 mothers of kindergarden. The mothers divided into 2 group : 10 mothers were assigned to the control group and 10 mothers to experimental group.
Two kinds of instruments were used in this study. First, the mother´s child rearing recognition and skill scale. Second, the child behavior scale.
STEP program was used for 9 weeks. The data were analyzed in Mean, Standard deviation, Frequency, Wilcoxon rank-sum test, Wilcoxon sign test and Standard deviatin, Frequency, Wilcoxon rand-sum test, Wilcoxon sign test and Graphs by SAS and LOTUS.
The result obtained from the study were as follows :
1. The children´s behavior of experimental group were significant difference in 4 subfactors (P〈.01, P〈.05).
2. The mothers´ child-rearing recognition and skill of experimental group were significant difference in 9 subfactors (P〈.001, P〈.01, P〈.05).
3. The mothers´ child-rearing recognition and skill of experimental group were changed positivety through 9 weeks.
