As the economic and social regulations change very repidly in Korea, private and public efforts to improve the quality of life are required genuinely. Among many groups of age, it is time to pay attention to the welfare of aged people and to make it better, But the welfare system for the aged people is now very unsatisfactory, especially the dental health care system due to its insufficient data both areas in research works and its management.
In my dissertation, therefore, I tried to survey the dental health care condition of 137 aged persons over sixty living in Kwangju city to have more effective data and to give more fruitful management for the practical application of the dental health care system.
The followings are my conclusions:

2. From the analysis of DMFT rate, I can find DT, MT, and FT rates to be 25.75%, 33.90%, and 16.99% respectively.
3. Tooth mortality rate shows 34.83%, tooth fatality rate 69.90% and with the increase of age, they are on the increase, too.
4. Simplified oral hygiene index shows 1.42, debris index 0.67, and calculus index 0.75 respectively.
5. Among the elements connected with root surface caries, gingival recession and pocket depth are decreasing when they are 0~3 §® in depth, however, they are increasing when they are 4~6 §® or over 6 §® in depth.
6. Root surface caries is appeared at 3.26% in the age group of 60-69, 9.24% in the group of 70-79, and 36.89% in the group of 80-89 respectively.
