Abstract
An 18 month old female weighing 10§¸ with the diagnosis of imperforated anus and rectovaginal fistula was scheduled for surgical correction. The infant received 15§· ketamine before induction of anesthesia. 0.2§· atropine, 50§· pentothal sodium, and 2§· vecuronium was administered. Vocal cords and surrounding structures were not identified under laryngoscope. Intubation using direct laryngoscopy proved unsuccessful after many attempts with various blades and changes in position. Subsequently, a size-2 LMA was inserted easily into the oropharynx, and lungs were ventilated. A week later, this patient was confirmed to have LTGDC in the ENT Department.
