Course Related Depressive Syndrome in Schizophrenics

Abstract
|
|
|
The author studied the incidence of the postpsychotic depressive syndrome in schizophrenic patients during hospitali zation. The incidence were 40% and 18 patients (36%) reported experiencing subjective sadness and 16 (32%) were observed to appear depressed.
In 10 (20%) symptoms were noted in a pattern for a minor depressive syndrome, and in 2 (4%) the symptom pattern met the criteria for ` maj or depressive syndrome.
