A Study on the Motor Nerve conduction Velocity in the Alcoholics
Hwang Sang-Jong

Abstract
The motor nerve conduction velocity (NCV) and digital-ankle and ankle-knee latencies of evoked action potentials of bilateral peroneal nerve of 28 alcoholics who had been admitted to Seoul National Mental Hospital during a period of January, 1985 to October, 1985 were measured.
The results obtained were as follows.
1. The mean motor NCV of digital-ankle of right peroneal nerve of 28 alcoholics was 5.5 + 4.3M/S and 5.4 + 5.5M/S in left side.
2. The mean motor NCV of ankle-knee of right peroneal nerve of 28 alcoholics was 43.8 + 3.6 M/S and 42.3 + 5.3M/S in left side.
3. The mean latency of Digital-ankle of right peroneal nerve was 5.4 + 1.9M/S and 5.5 +.3.2M/S.: in left side.
4 The mean latency of ankle-knee of right peroneal nerve was 15.8 + 2.2M/S, and 16 + 1.4M/.S in left side.
5. The mean distance between digital and ankle of right peroneal nerve was 5.5cm and 6cm in left side.
6. The mean distance between ankle and knee of right peroneal nerve was 44cm and 46cm¢¥in left side.
