A study on EMG of schizophrenics taking antipshchotics

Abstract
|
|
|
The mean action potential duration (ms) in various muscles of upper and lower extremities of 36 patients taking antipsychotics who had been admitted to Seoul National Mental Hospital were measured.
The results were as follows.
1. The MS of Deltoideus was less 3-5ms than normal Group.
2. The MS of Biceps brachii was less 2-4 ms than normal group.
3. The MS of Triceps brachii was less 2-5 ms.than normal group.
4. The MS of Extensor digitorum communis. was less 2-3 ms than normal group.
5. The MS of Opponens pollicis; interosseus was less 3-5ms than normal group.
6 The MS of Abductor digitiquinti was less 4-5 ms than normal group.
7. The MS of Biceps femoris quadriceps was less 2-4 ms than normal group.
8. The MS of Gastrocnemius was less 2-5 ms than normal group. The MS of Tibialis anterior was less 3-5 ms than normal group.
10. The MS of peroneus longus was less 3-4 ms than normal group.
11. The MS of Extensor digitorum brevis was less 2-4 ms than normal group.
