A Survey for Mental Disorders of Korea

Abstract
|
|
|
The author studied the various epidemiogical characteristicscs of 1730 inpatients who were admitted at the National Mental Hospital during the period from January, 1985 to December, 1985.
The results obtained in this study were as follows.
1) Schizophrenia was diagnosed in 67%
2) The ratio of male patient and female patient was 1.8;1.0. and in the age distrubution, 26% of the patients were aged between 30 and 39, and -73 % of the patients -?were ?aged between 19 and
3)Their educational level revealed that 45% of .the patients were high school graduates
4) As to the number of admission, 65% of the patients were admitted one time. And as to the duration of hospitalization, 45% of the patients were hospitalized below three months.
5) Majority of payment were from family member.
6) As to the area of residence, 65.5% of the patients were lived at Seoul.
