Abstract
|

|
94 patients with diagnosis of depressive neurosis, involutional depression and psychotic depression who had been treatedin SNUH were studied for their somatic symptoms. The results were as follows:
1. In the incidence of depression, female was 2.5 times higher than male.
2. In the distribution of ages, the highest frequency was observed to be the period of 40-44 and 25-29 years of age in males, and 35-39 and 30-34 years of age in female.
3. Average number of somatic symptoms was 4.6 per patient. (male 4.2, female 5.2)- Insomnia was most common.
4. Average number of somatic symptoms by diagnosis were 5.3 in depressive neurosis, 5.1 in involutional depression and 1.5 in psychotic depression.
