A clinical study on the psychotics Associated with pulmonary tuberculosis

Abstract
|
|
|
The purpose of this study is to investigate the clinical view of psychotic patients associated with pulmonary tuberculosis, subject´s were 59 pulmonary tuberculosis who were treated at National Mental Hospital during the period from Oct. 1986 to Oct. 1987.
The auther reviewed and analyed the data of epidemiological and clinical observation, and tried to find out the community base planning and hospital care for the psychotics c pul Tbc in Korea.
The result were as follows.
1. The total number of psychotics c pul Tbc. were 59. male patients were 45 cases and female patients were 14 cases, and The most common age was in the twenties.
2.. The most frequent psychotic disorder was schizophrenia (67.8%) and min pul. Tbc. cases were 59.3%.
3. The most frequent diagnostic route of pul. Tbc. was routine check (79.7%) .,
4. Most patients had no symptome, but cough c sputum was finded in 25 cases. _
5. Drug therapy of pul. Tbc. was short course chemotherapy in fresh cases, but in recurred cases,
variable methods were taken in case by case.
