Objectives: This study was conducted to investigate the mediating effects of forgiveness among middle-aged women who have experienced attachment injuries in their marital relationship.
Methods: Data from a sample of 327 married women living in the Seoul metropolitan area were analyzed using Amos 18.0.
Results: The mediating effects of self-forgiveness and situation forgiveness were not significant; however, spouse forgiveness was significant.
Conclusions: The results suggest that middle-aged dyadic adjustment can be improved by increasing levels of spouse forgiveness, and they can contribute to the development of an intervention program for the enhancement of marital relationships, as well as an educational program for middle-aged women with attachment injuries.
