Objectives: This study sought to investigate the effect of family resilience and social support on the relationship between job stress and life satisfaction of firefighters.
Methods: Through purposeful sampling, the researchers selected from 700 firefighters in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. They conducted basic statistical analyses to determine correlations, hierarchical regression analysis, and interaction effects.
Results: First, job stress of firefighters had a significant effect on life satisfaction. Second, family resilience confirmed that job stress mitigates the life satisfaction of firefighters. Third, the social support showed that job stress mitigates or lowers the life satisfaction of firefighters.
Conclusions: The scope of the study was expanded by selecting environmental variables such as family resilience and social support, as well as job stress, to determine their effects on firefighters¡¯ life satisfaction.
