Abstract
Objectives: The purpose of this research was to develop a solution-focused group art therapy program for improvement of social skills in school-age children from multicultural families and present effective interventions for forming positive peer relationships and social and psychological adjustments.

Method: This study was conducted in Children¡¯s Centers with 12 school-age children who are currently attending elementary school. The experimental group participated in the program for 90 minutes per week with a total of 8 sessions. The researchers performed the Mann-Whitney U Test and Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test to determine whether the counseling program was effective.

Results: The solution-focused group art therapy program including session-by-session observation and treatment factors showed significant differences and statistical improvement of social skills in school-age children from multicultural families.

Conclusions: This is significant for testing the effect of a comprehensive therapy-oriented program in social skills, which is important in peer relationships, on school-age children from multicultural families, and in presenting the validity and effectiveness of preventative approaches and short-term group therapy programs for the formation of positive peer relationships before adolescence.
