This review summarized the most relevant articles from the field of neuro-ophthalmology in multiple sclerosis and other demyelinating disease. Multiple sclerosis and neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder are commonly manifested by afferent and efferent visual pathway and that may initially present with ophthalmologic symptoms. Recognizing these syndromes and signs will help clinicians to properly evaluate the patient, formulate an appropriate differential diagnosis, be able to discuss the prognosis with the patient, and help develop an effective therapeutic plan.
