Abstract
Adult immunization is the most effective and economical means to prevent infectious disease. Adult immunization began to receive attention from Korean society after the influenza pandemic. Since the Korean Academy of Family Medicine published the article, ¡°Vaccination for Adults¡± in 1994, a recent update was made in this fi eld by the Korean Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Korean Society of Infectious Diseases. The Korean Society of Family Medicine recently has published another article, ¡°Adult Vaccination Record,¡± which is able to describe personal vaccination history. Vaccination providers should understand the most effective vaccination strategies to reduce the burden of preventable diseases according to host status.
