Abstract
Pyometra, a collection of purulent material in the uterine cavity, occurs when there is an interference with the normal drainage. It is an uncommon condition with a reported incidence ranging from 0.1% to 0.5% in all gynecological patients. We report a case of pyometra secondary to severe fecal impaction in a bedridden patient in a nursing home.
