Gamdutang aqua-acupunture solution (GAS), Glycyrrhizae radix aqua-acupuncture solution (GRAS) and Lonicerae flos aqua-acupuncture solution (LFAS) were prepared and tested for their antitumor activities in vitro. It was shown to possess considerable toxicity toward various tumor cells lines. GAS at the concentration of 5¡¿ and 10¡¿resulted in more than 70% inhibition of growth in Ehrlich ascites tumor cells (EATC), Hepa1c1c7 and A549 and 60% inhibition in HeLa. GRAS resulted in more than 80% inhibition of growth in Ehrlich ascites tumor cells (EATC), Hepa1c1c7 and HeLa cells. Toxicity of GRAS to A549 revealed that 68% inhibition of growth. LFAS at the concentration of 5¡¿ and 10¡¿ resulted in more than 60% inhibition of growth in Ehrlich ascites tumor cells (EATC), Hepa1c1c7 and HeLa cells. Cytotoxicity of LFAS to A549 revealed that 82% inhibition of growth at concentration of 10¡¿. KeyWords:Gamdutang aqua-acupunture solution (GAS), Glycyrrhizae radix aqua-acupuncture solution (GRAS), Lonicerae flos aqua-acupuncture solution (LFAS), Antitumor activities
